The look in her eye told him it was time to dance; his fancy footwork amazed all ablaze but pleased none who were on the other side of the world. Adorned with Buda dolls and Dresden dreams he caught fire with the relatives and arose like a phoenix, spreading his arms above his head for theatrical effect. The streets seemed to bend with the heat and it was a frightful sight indeed. The lack of emotion took precedence over the flesh shedding from bone. Far off lakes looked lopsided and more alluring from within so he lay down and tried to count the stars forgetting to count the one he saw sinking out of sight earlier. He placed his fingers over tiny spots of light squinting one eye, envisioning his atoms taking shape and joining other matters of matter. He thought of how he would have no consciousness since existence would no longer be “there” upon his demise. Thoughts of “Their” legs touching under the sheets with feet overlapping and gropes and moans shrouded in sweat. Speakers played a track over and over again in his head, a soothing voice speaking of all things good in the world in 5 second intervals. Then, there were no ears to hear anymore, only an empty void and a touch of ecstasy pinging away in the deafness of it all. This thought whimpered on, providing a semblance of what he thought was what he experienced. His mind wandered further creating new crevices of joy, scenarios that never took place but were just as real to him nevertheless. It was just a look outward through the flames.
